So here's a modern mythology idea. You know how some of the heroes are "cursed" or pursued by certain gods? Like Hera with Heracles or Poseidon with Odysseus? What if Dionysus was like that with Theseus except instead of his curses being harmful or deadly they are just really annoying and inconvenient. Theseus is always stubbing his toe on something, he's always spilling his wine, there's a bird with a really annoying call thats at his window every morning, and since Dionysus and Hermes are best buds, obviously Theseus is constantly "losing" things, having his messages getting lost in the mail, and always stuck in traffic (or whatever the Ancient Greek equivalent to that is xDDD)
How come whenever black people say that Hoodoo is closed to nonblack witches the FIRST THING white witches say is “Well then only white witches can practice Celtic/Hellenistic paganism (or any other OPEN European religion/spiritual practice).
Like it just shows how uneducated y’all are. Honestly. Celtic and Hellenistic paganism are OPEN practices. There is no requirements to join. Hoodoo was made by SLAVES, SLAVEESSSSS! Made by African slaves FOR African slaves and their descendants to help protect themselves. Why, as a white witch, would you want to use the spirits of slaves and black ancestors to do work for you??? Like why???
This! It’s also disturbing to see white witches attempt to call on their white ancestors to do Hoodoo. It’s literally not the same. Our ancestors can guide us because they were practicing Hoodoo. Their ancestors were torturing and killing ours for it. How are you going to call on colonizers and slave masters to help you practice a spiritual system when they killed the creators of that system for doing the thing you’re trying to do?
It makes me really mad that fruit-infused water are called "detox water" because that's not true but also they make really nice libations for summer, especially if you have warm weather.
Slap a god's favorite fruit in water, let that thing infuse for several hours and have a nice refreshing drink you can share with them. All while getting hydrated? Doesn't that sound nice?
Life has been quite stressful lately, so I thought I would share small practices and spells I use to reduce my stress and anxiety when times are tough…
🍂 Spend time near nature as much as you can, even if it means looking at trees from your windows / balcony if you live in a city.
💨 Learn breathing exercises, like 4-7-8 breathing, and practice consistently to reduce your anxiety.
🧘 Meditate. If you cannot last 15 minutes, try 10, and if not, try 5 minutes. Meditate daily to connect to your inner self.
🌿 Apply lavender on your hands or pillow before going to bed, to sleep peacefully and reduce stressful thoughts.
👝 Make a anti-anxiety sachet with rose petals, lavender buds, and amethyst. Carry it around or keep it next to your desk to draw power and peace.
☕ Reduce your coffee and alcohol consumption. Replace with herbal teas and remind yourself to drink enough water during the day.
📝 Make a list of everything that worries you in your journal, then close it and make the conscious decision to keep them where they are: on the paper and not in your mind.
❤️ Be kind to yourself. Celebrate every tiny task you can accomplish, and forgive yourself for the ones you cannot do.
✨ Find casual magic around you everyday, even if it is just the way the wind blows softly on your face, or that bird you saw flying near your window.
Look, even if you end up never NEEDING or WANTING to ACTUALLY cast Fireball... isn't it better to know HOW to cast Fireball and never actually do it, than to wind up in a situation where you just really, REALLY need a Fireball and have no fucking clue how to make one exist??
Draw this sigil on a picture of your target, or on an item that belonged to them, or on a piece of paper with their full name and date of birth on it. Alternatively you can set this as the contact photo for their phone number on your phone because #TechMagic
